‘Ganatantrik Adhikar Suraksha Sangathan’, Odisha condemns demolition of statue of Lenin in Tripura and vandalizing statue of Periyar in Tamilnadu. Both Lenin and Periyar were not simple individuals rather both are an ideology. The democratic country like India if wants to keep its values of democracy alive then the ideology of Periyar and Lenin should be respected. But a particular fundamentalist group wants that their ideology should only prevail. That is why they are attacking other ideologies and its believers which is condemnable. Periyara symbolizes against superstitions, caste oppression and practices of manual scavenging.  Similarly, Lenin is not simply an ideology rather a way of emancipation of working class. Those want to destroy Periyar and Lenin they are nothing like religious bigots, superstitious, intolerant, anti-dalit and anti-working class. In a democratic country like India, each ideology should have its importance and it is role of its citizens to accept or reject the ideology as per their choice.
So, the Sangathan demands that the government of Tripura and Tamilnadu should take legal actions against them who have vandalized the statutes. The citizens of respective states have kept faith on them and have chosen them to form the government. They should keep those desires of the people intact and should concentrate on taking pro-people measures for upliftment of the common people.

We are deeply shocked with the arrest of senior advocate Upendra Nayak by Odisha Police on yesterday i,e on 20 th February, 2018 at midnight. Advocate Upendra Nayak has been arrested of same criminal cases which he was defending his clients eight years back. We condemn it. Today he was produced before the Mohana JMFC by the Gajapati district police and was remanded for judicial custody and was sent to R. Udayagiri jail.  He has been charged with under section 121, 121-A, 124-A of IPC and various sections of UAPA.  Now a defense lawyer requires a lawyer to defend his 10 criminal cases. Upendra Nayak was defense lawyer of few tribal youths in the year of 2009-10 who were charged with similar sections like 124-A and UAPA. While defending his clients he became the “accused” of same criminal cases. Press Release Date : 12 th Feb 2018 Slow pace of decline of IMR in Odisha deplorable Ganatantirk adhikar suraksha sangathan, Odisha deplores the unending inefficiency of the public health care system of the government of Odisha in controlling child deaths at various stages. In 1980s, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) of the State was far ahead of national situation and this was continued in 1990s, in 2001s and was same in 2016. As per the report of Registrar General and Census Commission of India published on 11 th February 2018 IMR of Odisha is 44 per thousand live births which is higher than the national situation that is, 34 per thousand live births. It depicts gradual depletion of socio-economic situation of poor families. Child deaths in Nagada village of Jajpur and JE related deaths in Malkangiri are few instances of it. The organisation demands a responsible answer from the government on higher rate of Infant deaths.          ...
